We love the App Store - it’s the one huge advantage Apple has over
competing platforms, but as much as we like downloading apps and games
from it, we also hate the fact that you have to enter your Apple ID
password every single time you download an app.
Sure, we want that extra security step for paid purchases, but for free downloads this requirement is plain absurd. And after years of having to time and time again waste time typing down passwords for every free purchase, Apple finally listened and will remove the requirement in iOS 6.
In early iOS 6 betas Apple removed the password requirement for app updates, and now in beta 3 the requirement is gone for free apps as well. This means the only time you’d need to type down your password now will be when you want to download a paid app.
